A Cave Where A God Was Born
Diktaion Andro is a cave of 2,200 metres, filled with stalactites, stalagmites and a subterranean lake. It is a site with great archaeological and mythological importance. Findings from the Neolithic, Minoan, archaic, Hellenistic, Classic, Roman etc. Eras, make it a site of great importance. It is also said to be the place where Rea gave birth to Zeus, the father of the Gods.
