A sparkling toast to the birth of an icon!
Moët Impérial celebrates its 150th anniversary at The Romanos.
On Saturday 21 September 2019, The Romanos hosted a stylish event to celebrate 150 years of Moët Impérial, a significant milestone in the extraordinary journey of the world’s most iconic champagne.
Ted Lelekas, Moët Hennessy Brand Ambassador for Central & Southern Europe, and among the highest ranked global Wine Influencers, together with Nicolas Giannopoulos AIWS, distinguished Greek Champagne Sommelier and Brand Ambassador for Moët Hennessy in Greece, revealed the glorious 150-years story of Moët Impérial, that continues flawlessly until today, being an unsurpassed worldwide status symbol.
The legendary moment was in 1869, when the cuvée was christened “Imperial” as a tribute to Napoléon Bonaparte, a prestigious ambassador for the House who valued the Moët family pioneering spirit. The Emperor visited the House’s cellars for the first time in 1807 and came back several times to greet Jean-Remy Moët, grandson of the Moët & Chandon Maison founder.
Being a harmonious assemblage of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay, Moët Impérial is vibrant, generous and alluring. This wine embodies the Moët & Chandon style – remarkable for its bright fruitiness, seductive palate and elegant maturity.
The Romanos guests explored five extraordinary champagnes, namely Moet Brut Imperial, Moet Rose Imperial, Moet Grand Vintage 2006, Moet Grand Vintage Rose 2012, Moet Ice Imperial through a bespoke Masterclass, together with their food pairing expertly curated by The Romanos acclaimed chefs.
