A Whisky Journey At The Westin Resort Costa Navarino
You’ve always wanted to know the difference between a Bourbon, Scotch, Rye and Irish, but never knew where to ask? The Whisky Journey Weekend at Costa Navarino, now being held for the second year in a row, is a great way to sharpen one’s palate, compare samples directly, and have some fun with friends.
A perfect way to spend a weekend of learning and indulgence as Whisky Tasting Expert Petros Charizopoulos took participants on a Whisky Journey, expertly curated by The Tasters Club. Eager whisky aficionados were taught to discern the flavor profiles and aromas of premium whiskeys and sample five distinct single malts*, crafted with expertise by two of the finest Scotch distilleries, producing single malt whisky since the 19th Century: the Glen Moray at Speyside and the Bruichladdich on Islay island.
The Whisky Journey kicked off with a welcome evening cocktail on Friday, 9 March 2018, followed by a Whisky Tasting event on Saturday, 10 March 2018, with plenty of time in between to soak in the goodness of the Thalassotherapy pools at the Anazoe Spa and let therapists work their magic on your sore muscles.
A hike in Messinia’s glorious countryside by Navarino Outdoors and a quick workout at WestinWORKOUT, or a round of golf at The Dunes Course or The Bay Course, Costa Navarino’s signature golf courses, is ample opportunity to ponder the age-old question: is it whisky or whiskey? Turns out that, Scottish products are whisky, while Irish and American varieties are called whiskey.
A terrific experiential travel moment with exquisite whisky tasting and food pairing.
