It is in early December when Hotel Grande Bretagne puts on its festive decorations and welcomes the most magical time of the year. Christmas time! And this season, timeless crystal ornaments in various shapes decorate the hotel giving an ambiance of magic and glow.

Entering the lobby of the historic hotel, one gets dazzled by the impressive 7mt tall Christmas tree. Dressed with a total of 300 crystal ornaments and more than 5.000 lights, this must be the most beautiful Christmas tree in Athens.

Just as in fairy tales, there is a story behind this tree. And through the social media channels of the Hotel, this story came to life with a series of short videos.

From the moment of selection to the moment of decoration and illumination, the story of the tree is wrapped in magic.

After a journey through the city of Athens and treated with care by the hotel’s staff, the Christmas tree arrived at the hotel. It owns a special place in the heart of the hotel’s lobby and in the heart of all Athenians.

It took more than 7 hours to decorate the tree. The hotels’ staff and valued guests joint forces and worked together to bring to life this years’ festive spirit.

To celebrate the upcoming arrival of this joyous holiday, Hotel Grande Bretagne invited loyal guests and friends to the Christmas tree illumination event.

On a December afternoon, the Christmas tree lights were lit and so did the festive spirit of the city of Athens. The hotel’s lobby was filled with the sound of Christmas carols, sang by a choir of young children.

This is a memorable experience, reminding us how important collective work and cooperation is. It is an experience to cherish and remember for a lifetime.
