Costa Navarino pays tribute to Game of Thrones finale
Toasting the beginning of the end with an epic whisky event, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, at Costa Navarino celebrated the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones final season. 
Preparing for the thrilling finale, Game of Thrones devotees and whisky aficionados gathered at The Romanos in April for an exclusive whisky experience weekend, featuring Diageo’s limited-edition collection of Single Malt Whiskies. The collection includes eight scotch whiskies – all coming from respected Scottish distilleries, each reflecting one of the iconic Houses of Westeros has been named after, as well as the Night’s Watch.
Expertly curated by The Tasters Club, the Game of Thrones-inspired weekend was launched with the “Ice & Fire Night” on Friday evening at 1827 Winter Lounge, featuring chilled White Walker by Johnnie Walker, honoring the most enigmatic and feared character of the show, served neat or on the rocks, together with White Walker Highball and Old-Fashioned cocktail creations – all paired with savory canapés.
On Saturday evening, the regal Anax hall resembled a Game of Thrones stage, prepared to host over 50 participants for an exquisite whisky tasting ritual. The talented Whisky Expert Petros Charizopoulos planned an incomparable journey to the Seven Kingdoms and beyond, while illustrating an authentic story between each House and the respective single malt. Guests discovered the unique characteristics and distinctive aromas of each single malt of the collection before committing to their favorite. The tasting event was complemented by the impressive “Feast of Crows” midnight buffet, where The Romanos acclaimed Chefs highly exercised their passion, imagination and creativity to offer guests an intriguing Westeros-influenced culinary experience.
This spring weekend offered excellent time in between for a hike in Messinia’s magnificent countryside, a round of golf at any of the two signature golf courses, or complete rejuvenation at Anazoe Spa with an oleotherapy® treatment and in the Thalassotherapy pools.
